#94 TUESDAY SCOOP... 5 Mother's Day gifts for the wellness enthusiast
If you want to give the chocolates and bath salts a rest this year (although flowers are forever a win, right mum?!)...
Fully aware it is Wednesday, by the way. I’ve been feeling quite run down the past couple of days and finally filed a magazine piece at 9pm last night, when I had zero brain power left to give. Thank you for your patience. Also, I realised while putting this together that Mother’s Day in the US, Canada and Australia (countries where are a huge chunk of you are based) is not until May (why isn’t there one agreed global date?!) so simply consider this some early inspiration for then…
1/ I’m a strong believer that the best gifts are useful or pretty, and this Onyx ring set actually ticks both boxes. If the mum figure in your life is in the market to upgrade her strength training at home, then being able to easily add in—and grip onto—2kg, 3.5kg and 5kg during her sessions (be that Pilates or HIIT) is a great place to start. Plus, they’ll be a dream to store away…
2/ Monday Body is the sleek activewear arm of influencers Tash Oakley and Devin Brugman’s Monday Swimwear. Their Zion Tank is an ultra-supportive sports bra and top combined—providing more coverage than some upper-body gym pieces on the market—and I love the square neckline and espresso/ ivory colourway (there’s matching shorts and leggings if you’re feeling especially generous)…
3/ Jewellery might not be a traditional ‘wellness’ product per se—but it will certainly make a feel-good gift for your mum. That’s especially if you’re buying from somewhere with quality and meaning at its core, and Ballinger is a brilliant growing British brand founded by one of my dearest friends Emily—who named it after her grandmother’s maiden name—with lovingly designed 18k gold-plated pieces. Aren’t these earrings just divine…
4/ There’s nothing that makes me sigh more than pricey ‘Mother’s Day pampering’ sets that end up gathering dust in the bathroom. Buy her something she’ll actually use, like this Living Proof High Shine Gloss Treatment (that’s probably bit of a nicer gift than the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo everyone is raving about, although that might be very welcome too)…
5/ Now, while physical presents are all well and good, I do think that ‘experiences’ can be brilliant for the mum who already has everything—be they for March 29th (Mother’s Day, FYI) or beyond. Obviously, it depends on what’s geographically accessible for her, but for Londoners a relaxing session with sound healer Nancy Trueman at her recently opened True North Studio in Soho would go down a treat…
